Medicos, pioneering refillable packaging made in France
Launched in 2007, Medicos developed the first refillable packaging made in France with the Mahler brand, a beauty salon brand. They are also behind the first concrete refill packaging made for La Crème Libre in France, and they also designed the luxury refill for the porcelain jar released in 2015 on the market by Sothys.

Medicos sells around 3200 product references per year, 35 million droppers, 40 million perfume caps, 14 different jar formats with a wide range of customizations, and... around 300 new products. Exports represent 25% of sales. The product offering is equally balanced between standard and custom products.
Since the 2000s, the packaging specialist has been working on improving its environmental impact with the 3R approach (Reduce, Reuse, Reycle). "Our goal is to move towards 100% recyclable or reusable packaging, reduce the use of fossil materials, develop the use of bio-based materials, promote local sourcing (materials, tools...)," explains Denis Moiraud, site manager at Medicos.
Re-Click
In June 2023, Medicos, together with glass maker Gerresheimer, launched a refillable glass jar named Re-CliCK. The refillable solution is based on an easy and intuitive handling system while using sustainable materials. Re-CliCK is available as part of Gerresheimer and Medicos' standard offer. All parts of the system can be customised in decoration and color.
The glass jar is made of 40% post-consumer recycled (PCR) glass, while the inner is made of bio-based PP and the cap of R-PET, PET or PP. All materials are recyclable after use. Additionally, the glass jar is lightweight.
The clickable solution offers an easy and intuitive handling of the refill packs to the consumer. Through the click-in system of the inner, the consumer can effortless insert and remove the refill packs while they are safely locked to the glass jar. Thanks to the sophisticated click-in solution, the inner always stays in place during screwing and unscrewing of the cap.
Beyond Jars
Beyond jars for prestige cosmetics, Medicos specialises in technical and complex packaging solutions like roll-on, canula-type capsules, perfume caps, droppers or pipettes, and have developed the latest refillable foundation packaging for Armani, for instance.
