As regulatory pressure on the cosmetics industry continues to intensify — spanning product safety, chemical restrictions, environmental obligations and international market access — staying informed has never been more critical. The COSMED Regulatory Congress, now in its 26th edition, returns to Paris on 1 and 2 April 2026 as one of the most significant annual gatherings for cosmetics regulatory professionals in Europe.

Expected to bring together around 350 participants, the two-day congress offers company executives and managers working in regulatory affairs, R&D, toxicology and quality a dedicated space to engage directly with regulatory authorities, industry associations and sector peers. Attendance is available both in person in Paris and via live streaming.

1 and 2 April 2026 in Paris: attend the Cosmed regulatory conference to find out about the latest French, European and international regulatory developments in the cosmetics industry.

Day 1 – European and French Regulatory Landscape

The first day focuses on developments at the national and European levels. Representatives from ANSES and the DGCCRF will present updates on vigilance measures, inspection reviews and Good Manufacturing Practices. A Legal Officer from the European Commission will address the ongoing revision of the cosmetics regulation, the impact of the Omnibus simplification package, and the revision of the sunscreen products recommendation.

Further sessions will cover ingredient monitoring in the context of evolving CLP and REACH classifications, responsible communication and green claims, and a dedicated round table on PFAS — one of the most closely watched regulatory topics of the moment — examining how companies can anticipate and prepare for incoming restrictions at both the French and European levels.

Day 2 – International Regulatory Updates

The second day shifts focus to global markets, with regulatory overviews covering Asia, the Middle East and the Americas. Sessions will address the specificities of Japanese cosmetics regulations, the latest developments in China, and regulatory frameworks across Saudi Arabia and Dubai.

For companies with interests in the Americas, the programme includes updates on Latin American regulations and chemical inventories, the EU-MERCOSUR free trade agreement, requirements in the Andean Community, and a focus on US market access — including Washington State's Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act, which is increasingly relevant for European exporters.

A Long-Standing Reference Event

For 26 years, COSMED has served as a key liaison between the French and European cosmetics industry and the authorities overseeing the sector. The Regulatory Congress supports this role by providing companies with the regulatory interpretations and anticipatory analysis they need to stay compliant in an increasingly complex landscape.

Whether you're navigating EU-level changes, preparing for international expansion, or benchmarking your internal compliance processes, this congress offers practical, expert-led insight across the full regulatory spectrum.
