C-Derma - making CBD beauty "sexy" again - is launching in the UK

C-Derma by Céline, a Swiss cosmetics line, is expanding to the UK through selected channels, following its success in Switzerland. Founded in 2021 by Céline Stäubli, the brand offers a "Clean Beauty" range primarily for young skin, combining CBD benefits with a twist, while following sustainable practices.

CBD, but more appealing

Passionate for cosmetics, Céline realised, during her studies in Switzerland, that CBD had a lot of hidden benefits for skincare. She decided to create a luxury beauty brand that combines CBD - without the typical hemp scent - and added active ingredients like hyaluronic acid, for added skincare benefits. A range that would focus on holistic health for women.

Indeed, breaking away from the traditional hemp aesthetic of green leaves, Céline opted for elegant packaging, a signature olfactory identity with notes of amber and vanilla, and, above all, formulations developed with experts to provide skincare that is both effective and sensorial. The products have been formulated respecting the Yuka (clean) standard and scores up to 100 to ensure a responsible standard to consumers.

Céline Staübli developed C-Derma's with a strong commitment to the naturalness of its products, with percentages between 95 and 100% of natural ingredients. The brand pays particular attention to eco-responsibility, using minimalist and recycled packaging, and is considering refill solutions for some products. The products are also formulated without sulfates or silicones.

With consumers seeking natural and innovative products and a growing openness to the benefits of CBD, Céline is confident that "C-Derma by Céline will appeal to those looking for efficacy and ethical beauty solutions."

“This new step is essential for C-Derma by Céline. The UK market is one of the most dynamic in Europe, and I am very excited to receive feedback from our customers. Swiss regulations are very strict regarding formulations, and our products embody this high standard of quality, which will appeal to women seeking effective and as natural as possible beauty products.” – Céline Stäubli - President and Founder of C-Derma by Céline.

An expanding range of products

C-Derma currently offers about 15 CBD-based products, primarily for young skin (18-35 years old) due to their anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. The range includes a face cream, a serum, a micellar water, for instance, as well as a lightweight SPF for the face. The brand will also launch a new anti-ageing line without CBD, demonstrating the intention to expand its offering.

In Switzerland, the brand has established itself in major retailers such as Manor and Sun Store, as well as in luxury hotels, and is now expanding in the UK through Mybeautyworld.net, Amazon UK, and Superdrug and is looking to expand in selective UK distribution via stores like Selfridges or Space NK.

Céline Stäubli highlights the UK as a key market due to its dynamic cosmetics industry, increasing demand for personal care products among young adults, and the significant role of e-commerce in distribution. She believes the brand's high-quality, ethically produced solutions will appeal to UK consumers seeking natural and innovative beauty products.
